Easy Strength and Original Strength
Apr 22, 2024
Hey guys,
It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog. I’ve been traveling over the last two weeks with Dan John. We’ve been doing our “European Tour,” and I’ve got to say, it’s been SO much fun. Think of it as a tour where Easy Strength pairs up with Original Strength. What could be better? That’s pretty much as epic as combining chocolate with peanut butter. It’s just too good!
Anyway, the first leg of our tour was in Chelmsford, England, at James St. Peirre’s Unique Results training studio. The second leg was in Odense, Denmark, at Ole Stougaard’s STRONG4LIFE training studio. Both James and Ole were amazing hosts with beautiful training facilities. I had an amazing time, one I’ll never forget.
On the trip, this is what I learned: Moving is a universal language. I’ve always known math was THE universal language, but now I think it’s moving. While math is universal, it’s something we all have to learn and discover to communicate its meaning. But with moving, it’s something we’ve all been given. Moving has been implanted in each of us naturally. It’s something we all were created to do, and it conveys almost everything about us to one another.
Think about it. Your body is an expression suit. Your movements tell the world how you feel – if you are sad, mad, anxious, confident, etc. Your movements tell the world how strong you are (physically and perhaps mentally) – if you are fluid, strong, immobile, flexible, in pain, free, etc. And your movements can even give clues to what you are thinking – if you’re trying to be funny, hide a secret, plan an escape, or whatever. In many ways, movement tells the world who you are, and it is how the world reveals itself to you. We were all made to move. The better we move, the better we feel, and the better we think, the better we express ourselves.
Sure, many of us walk around portraying to the world what we want it to see – or at least we try our best. But when we are just being, when we let our guards down, we often tell the world who we are by how we breathe, how we glance, and how we walk. That’s our real story, and our universal language tells it.
Anyway, I’ve LOVED working with Dan John. He’s a fountain of wisdom. This has been one of the neatest experiences of my life. I’ve gotten to see amazing parts of the world, and I’ve gotten to share Original Strength with 60 wonderful humans who live thousands of miles away from me. But the coolest thing is that my wife came on this trip. I’ve been traveling around sharing OS for at least ten years; this is the first trip my wife has ever been able to accompany me on. We had a great time eating great food, walking 9 miles a day, and touring the home of Ted Lasso and the Islands of Denmark. Like I said, I will never forget this trip. It was epic for multiple reasons.
I’m traveling home now, and a new adventure awaits. The Original Strength Institute is moving to a new, bigger location. We are changing walls and installing crawlways and runways. It’s going to be great! If you ever get the chance, venture out to Fuquay-Varina, NC, and look us up and discover your Original Strength.
Have a great week!
Tim

Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
