      Delightful 2024

Categories: Blog, Fitness, New Year Objectives, Physical Activity Routine, Rebooting, self-confidence
      Jan 01, 2024

We’ve reached 2024! The mere fact that we exist at this moment is deserving of celebration. Should you be perusing this, you’ve doubtlessly lived through numerous enthralling instants, circumstances, and occurrences. Throughout all of that, you’ve acquired recollections, blemishes, teachings, and discernment. Evidently, this is the period when we discard all those teachings, neglect all that discernment, and opt to be staunch in revamping our lives anew.

Indeed, I’m referring to the self-confidence-draining whirlpool of the New Year’s Resolution.

I’m uncertain if I’ll ever comprehend why we have instigated an annual occasion to set ourselves up for disappointment. Throughout my life, I’ve witnessed countless individuals establish New Year’s Resolutions for a fresh existence as the year commences. I’m not immune to this, except I appear to select any moment of the year to whimsically resolve to make changes in my life. Why postpone until January, correct?

Regardless, it’s a captivating occurrence. We make it through a year, we assess the year, we pinpoint things we want to modify, we need to modify, we MUST modify, and then we declare

“In January, I’m finished with ____________.” And then, in February, we realize we missed the mark; we didn’t even endure a month, and now we absorb defeat.

There’s nothing erroneous with desiring to change and become “better” or strive for a “good” life. However, there’s something not accurate about being unable to accomplish what we set out to achieve. It’s commendable to aspire to improve. It’s not laudable not comprehending how to improve.

Many of us neglect to fulfill our resolutions as we neglect to grasp that we are combatting against our neural system. We are endeavoring to alter our practices when our practices are physically carved into our brains; there are physical configurations (neural connections) that we have established that govern the operations of the practices we want to alter.

It’s insufficient to endeavor to alter our behavior or cognitive patterns for a few weeks; we need to alter our neural circuitry. And that demands time – more than a few days or even a few weeks. It’s also not essentially uncomplicated because, generally, we try to adopt a comprehensive, sweeping method to change instead of making minor adjustments or maneuvers. Often, we aim to confront an issue frontally with sheer might rather than cautiously encircling the back…

Another aspect that frequently obstructs us is that we sometimes endeavor to approach transformation through the erroneous “entrance.” What I signify is that we may strive to approach something intellectually when we would be better off approaching it physically. We are all distinct, but it is frequently easier to approach the body to access the mind than to approach the mind to access the mind. For some, it may be easier to approach the mind to access the body than to approach the body to access the body.

Nevertheless, if we wish to prevail at engendering enduring change in January or any instance we recognize that change is requisite, we need to discern how to approach the literal “source” of the issue, our nervous system.

We need to either foster and shape the neural connections for the practices that we want to witness in our lives, or we need to starve and disassemble the neural connections for the practices we want to eliminate from our lives. Understand, how you think is customary, and you’ve composed the wiring for your thoughts. Should you be an apprehensive individual, you’ve wired that within yourself. Should you be a pessimistic individual, you’ve wired that within yourself. Should you be an excessive consumer of nourishment, Facebook, Tic-Tok, pornography, gossip, or sunsets, you’ve wired that within yourself.

I don’t know what it is you may aspire to change about yourself, about your life. I do know we are frequently strict on ourselves, and we don’t invariably permit ourselves leniency; we tend to be absolute types. I suggest a gentle movement plan that you can integrate into your day that might aid you gently “circumnavigate the back” and allow you to bring about the changes you want to realize in your life. And I’m regretful, but this just may not make any sense as to how it could function, but trust me, there just might be something to this.

I’m proposing that you embark on a 10-minute movement plan every day without internalizing any distress if you miss a day. If you do miss a day, just smile and pick it back up the next day.

I don’t know what you want to change, but I may know what you might now be thinking. Yes, this movement plan could lead you to create a change in your life that seems completely unrelated to movement.

Hear me out. If you move well, you feel well. If you feel well, you think well. If you think well and feel well, it is easier to make good and helpful decisions that open desired paths for your life. If you move well, feel well, and think well, you will likely not worry, be stressed, eat stressed, be angry, wage war against social media, or whatever else it is you want to change about your life. You may even be able to earn a better living for yourself because you can clearly make sound decisions stemming from a positive affect (state of being) or because you are simply more pleasant to be around.

Consistent movement can do all of these things for you because movement is the action that leads to changes in emotions, thoughts, hormones, and even neural wiring. If we show up every day and move, we are going to be healthier in all areas of our lives. Period.

So, here is your EXTREMELY SIMPLE movement plan that just may lead to peace in you. Peace inside of you is the absence of warring within yourself…

Do this every single day. But don’t fret; smile and pick it back up if you miss a day. Just keep showing up as often as you can until showing up is just something that you do because showing up is who you are.

      • Practice maintaining your tongue on the roof of your mouth at all times unless you are conversing or eating.
      • Practice deep breathing for 3 minutes. Learn how to fill your lungs up from the bottom to the top and from the back to the front. Breathe through your nose.
      • Practice moving your eyes and head.
        • Perform head nods (move your eyes and head up and down as if you are gesturing “yes”) for 1 minute.
        • Perform head rotations (move your eyes and head left and right as if you are gesturing “no”) for 1 minute.
      • Practice rolling on the floor for 3 minutes.
        • Don’t overcomplicate this. Just get down on the floor and discover all the ways you can roll from your belly to your back and from your back to your belly.
        • Check out this video for assistance: https://youtu.be/C7Vxcb1yOro
      • Try exercising on your hands and knees for 2 minutes.
        • Keep your eyes and head on the horizon, maintain a “tall” or “proud” chest, and gently sway on your hands and knees.
        • Here’s a helpful video link: https://youtu.be/EBs0zkM-h6c
      • Whenever possible, take a walk. Consider going for a brisk 10-minute walk after each meal or a 30-minute stroll.
        • Keep your eyes and head on the horizon, and move those shoulders!

That’s it. By doing this daily, you will notice a gradual and positive change within yourself. Physically, you will feel better (less pain, increased flexibility, more strength), and experience improved emotional well-being. You’ll become emotionally stable, clear-minded, confident, and calm. Your relationships and career will improve, and overall life quality will enhance. Why? Because you will have transformed from within, creating new neural connections that align with the person you aspire to be. This paves the way for significant life changes in the future.

For how long should you do this?

      Yes.

Just do it. There’s every reason to do it and no reason not to. It’s just too simple to ignore. You can do this. It’s not complicated. Just commit to showing up and moving.

This is an excellent starting point, guiding you toward your desired destination. Eventually, it may lead to more significant changes and enable you to tackle bigger goals, as you are wiring yourself for success.

You can create a new version of yourself and a better life by utilizing your inherent ability to move and thrive.

      Keep moving, my friends.

      Tim

Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my website to rank for
some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good results.
If you know of any please share. Appreciate it!
